Koh Mak has been chosen by the Green Destinations Foundation to be listed among the Top 100 Destination Sustainability Stories 2022.

Representatives from the Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Dasta) recently received the certificate of recognition in Athens, Greece.

Located in Trat province in eastern Thailand, Koh Mak has been chosen by Dasta to be a model tourism area for the circular economy. The recognition by the Green Destinations Foundation and other tourism alliances including ITB Berlin, Travellife, ASEAN Ecotourism Network and Ecotourism Australia is solid proof of best practice towards sustainability.

Also listed this year are Ban Huai Pu Kaeng village in Mae Hong Son, Sapphaya community-based tourism in Chai Nat, Sentosa in Singapore, Nijmegen in the Netherlands, Akane and Otsu towns in Japan, and Normandy in France.

New Marriott opens on Khao Lak

JW Marriott recently announced the opening of JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort Suites, an all-suite luxury retreat located on the southern Andaman coast.

Just an hour's drive north of Phuket, Khao Lak is one of southern Thailand's quieter coastal destinations with its tranquil charm, sandy beaches, scuba diving and outdoorsy, family-friendly activities.

AirAsia adds Japanese fare to menu
