Cape Fahn Hotel names new GM

Poomiphat Navanukroh of Cape & Kantary Hotels recently announced the appointment of Urs Aebi as general manager of Cape Fahn Hotel, Koh Samui.

Aebi trained at l'École Hotelière de Lausanne in Switzerland and has spent the last 30 years developing and honing his skills to their current degree of excellence. Apart from a short time spent working on a cruise liner, he has given his time to Thailand where he has worked for a number of different hotel chains. Included in his past experience is over four years at Cape Panwa Hotel, Phuket.

Grand Mercure BKK to get refurb

Accor has signed a management agreement for a Grand Mercure hotel in Bangkok. This popular hotel, which has been welcoming the world's travellers for over 26 years, will be refurbished and rebranded as Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium. The hotel is on New Phetchaburi Road.

The 568 rooms and suites offer panoramic city views and premium amenities, including business desks, locally inspired artworks and bathrooms with rain showers and bathtubs. Eight room categories, ranging in size from 30-129m², ensure plenty of choice for corporate guests, couples and families.
