The Naga Cave in Bueng Kan’s Phu Langka National Park will reopen to tourists on June 1, according to the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation.
The cave, which is known for the massive snake-shaped rock formation in its main chamber, is closed for rehabilitation and safety upgrades. The rock formation resembles a mythical creature widely known in the Northeast as the naga, which is thought to bring about prosperity.
When it reopens, DNP will allow 1,000 tourists to visit the site per day, up from the previous daily limit of 700. Out of the 1,000 spots available, 496 are reserved for bookings made via the QueQ application.
