The run will be preceded by a sermon and followed by dhamma practice and wian thian (candle ceremony) at Wat Phra Buddha Saiyat (Wat Phra Non) in Muang district.

All are requested to gather at Wat Phra Buddha Saiyat at 1pm to listen to a sermon and receive holy water collected from nine temples _ Wat Phra Non, Wat Khok, Wat Kudee Dao, Wat Mahathat, Wat Phlabphla Chai, Wat Chee Sa In, Wat Khoi, Wat Rattanatrai and Wat Sa Bua.

After the 2.5km walk and run is complete, 86 monks will pray at Wat Phra Non to give blessings to His Majesty the King, who turns 86 in December this year. Each of the participants will receive a T-shirt and an amulet and be invited to apply gold leaf to the statue of Phra Uppakut. Phra Uppakut was one of the Lord Buddha's followers who managed to overcome the devil, so his statues and amulets are believed to ensure safety and good fortune for worshippers.
