A Thai-Chinese New Year

The sights and sounds from a day with a typical Thai-Chinese family in Yaowarat as they celebrate Chinese New Year. The day’s activities include the preparing of food to offer to both gods and ancestors, passing out ang bao (red envelopes filled with money), and the burning of paper money and accessories for use in the afterlife.
