Video posted online shows an injured protester lying on the ground in the Tsuen Wan area of the city, whilst another protester is held down by a police officer.
Another video, that went viral online, showed an officer firing at close range at the chest of a protester. The authenticity of that video was not immediately verified.
Hong Kong's Hospital Authority said on Tuesday that one person was in a critical condition and at least 14 others were wounded.
Police have not responded to requests for comment but have said they fired live rounds into the air in previous clashes.
