Everton deal

English Premier League side Everton are happy with their partnership with Thai Beverage Co and are looking forward to more joint activities in the future.

Everton chief executive officer Robert Elstone said during his visit to Thailand yesterday that the club and the company are "more than sporting partners".

"We felt concerned when Thailand was in crisis," Elstone said.

ThaiBev, producers of Chang beer, have been a sponsor of the club since 2004. Thailand has since faced several problems such as the heavy flooding last year.

Elestone yesterday donated sports equipment to Pamai Uthit School in Nonthaburi _ a school that was afffected by the floods.

Elstone said that during last year's disaster Everton players wore special shirts during a Premier League match to help raise funds to help the flood victims here.

In 2005, Everton and ThaiBev donated 10 million baht to help tsunami victims in Phangnga whose houses were destroyed.

Elstone promised that before the 2013-2014 season there would be a charity match in Thailand between Everton and a leading world club.
