Kiradech aims for top 20

In-form Kiradech Aphibarnrat has set his sights on a top-20 place in this year's Race to Dubai.

The 26-year-old Thai, who will play at the Scottish Open which tees off today, feels confident in his game after moving up to 13th on the European Tour's money list.

His father Panupong said that his son now believes he can play against the tour's top players.

"His confidence has been boosted by a string of good results,'' he said. "His attitude has also changed and he now believes he can play competitively on the tour."

World No.84 Kiradech won his second European Tour title at the Shenzhen International in China earlier this year and finished tied for fourth at the BMW International Open in Germany last week.

"He believes that if he continues playing well he will finish in the top 20 in the Race to Dubai,'' Panupong said.

At the Scottish Open, the former Asian Tour No.1 will tee off at 6.50pm (Thai time) today alongside Colin Montgomerie of Scotland and Alexander Levy of France.

Kiradech will play at next week's British Open. He has also qualified for next month's PGA Championship.

Thongchai Jaidee, currently ranked 33rd in the word and eighth in the Race to Dubai, is grouped with Branden Grace of South Africa and Jimmy Walker of the US. They are scheduled to start at 2.20pm (Thai time).

CADDIE BOOTED

World No.10 Kim Sei-Young's caddie was booted from the US Women's Open on Tuesday after he was found in the USGA rules office improperly taking photos of course setup documents, officials said.

Veteran caddie Paul Fusco was escorted off the property by USGA security at Lancaster Country Club and will not be allowed to caddie for South Korea's Kim at this week's major.

"He was in a USGA office taking photos of internal USGA course setup documents and was discovered by a USGA official," spokesperson Christina Lance said. "It was information that is not available to all players until the day of the tournament."
