Mallorca's Joao Victor out for 7 months

Real Mallorca's Brazilian midfielder Joao Victor will be out for around seven months after rupturing cruciate knee ligaments, the club said Tuesday.

Real Mallorca midfielder Joao Victor (left) holds off a Barcelona player as he slides for the ball during a Spanish league match in October 2011. Victor will be out for around seven months after rupturing cruciate knee ligaments, the club says.

"Medical tests have confirmed that Joao Victor, who had to go off during Sunday's game against Granada, has ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee. This type of injury requires between six and seven months' recuperation," the club revealed.

Victor, 23, arrived two years ago from Uzbek side Bunyodkor.
