Buriram dominate Kirins as Rabbits crash at home

Buriram United recorded a dominating 3-1 victory over arch-foes Muang Thong United in a Thai League 1 encounter on Saturday night.

The result has pushed the Thunder Castle a step closer to defending their top-flight title.

Buriram had goals from Jefferson Tabinas (nine), Supachai Chaided (16) and Goran Causic (85), while the Kirins' only goal came in the 56th minute through Kakana Khamyok.

Buriram United coach Jorginho said after the match: "In the first half, we played really well, but we have to be consistent from the start to the end."

In another big match on Saturday night, BG Pathum United suffered a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Port.

The Rabbits' Freddy Alvarez converted a penalty in the 15th minute but Barros Tardeli equalised for Port after 27 minutes. However, Port sealed three points with goals from Felipe Amorim (34) and Teerasak Poeiphimai (82).

In the other games on Saturday night, hosts Sukhothai lost 3-1 to Uthai Thani and Chonburi were also beaten 1-0 at home by Nakhon Pathom United.
