Since its inauguration in 1982, the Bangkok Post Foundation has used part of the donations and funds raised to restore and build new facilities for 14 needy schools across the country.

– Ban Saphli School in Pathiu district, Chumphon province

The school, now named Ban Saphli (Bangkok Post Suksa), was devastated by 1988’s typhoon Gay. The foundation provided a new classroom building with complete infrastructure in 1989; a new multi-purpose building and medical room in 1991; and a kindergarten building in 1995. Recently in 2015, the foundation helped repair and refurnish the classroom building it built 26 years ago.

In 2012, the foundation also helped restore seven schools badly affected by 2011’s megaflood. They include:

  • Ban Krathum Lai School, Wang Noi district, Ayutthaya province
  • Wat Samphanieng School, Ban Phraek district, Ayutthaya province
  • Ban Chang School, Uthai district, Ayutthaya province
  • Wat Phutthai Sawan School, Muang district, Ayutthaya province
  • Wat Nakhon Prod Sat School, Ban Praek district, Ayutthaya province
  • Ban Khlong Sawang Arom School, Buddha Monthon district, Nakhon Pathom province
  • Bung Khao Yon School, Khlong Luang district, Pathum Thani province

Six needy schools in Phetchaburi, Prachuap Khiri Khan and Chaiyaphum provinces have also received support from the Bangkok Post Foundation.

  • A new classroom building for kindergarten pupils at Ban Pa Deng school, Kaeng Krachan district, Phetchaburi province
  • A new duck pen facility, part of the sustainable agriculture project for school lunches that feeds 215 students and doubles as an educational channel for hands-on farming lessons, at Ban Huay Sok Border Patrol Police School, Kaeng Krachan district, Phetchaburi province
