SAMUT PRAKAN: A man shot himself dead in a condo car park while streaming live on Facebook, after his girlfriend broke up with him early on Thursday.

The incident was reported to police about 3am.

Police found Napat Kullapachayakarn, 37, of Suphan Buri, dead with a bullet wound to his forehead in front of his Toyota Vigo pickup truck in the parking lot of the condominium where he and his girlfriend lived.

On the vehicle's bonnet, they found a mobile phone with a recording, and some clothes and personal effects inside the truck.

Next to the body was an illegally assembled .38 pistol, with a single spent shell in the breech and two bullets on the ground nearby.

Investigators said Napat was a paint technician at Toyota Motor Thailand Co Ltd’s Bang Pho plant in Chachoengsao. He lived with his girlfriend in the condo where his body was found, and they reportedly quarrelled frequently about his drinking habit.

On Wednesday night, the couple fought again and his girlfriend reportedly broke up with him. Napat then took some clothes out to his truck, to find another place to live. But before leaving, he started drinking and around 2.30am started broadcasting live on Facebook in front of the vehicle.

The first two times he tried to shoot himself the bullets misfired, so he opened the revolver and removed  both bullets. He put in another one, and shot himself in the forehead.

The body was sent for an autopsy. Police were investigating.
