8,450 new Covid cases, 28 deaths Friday

The country registered 28 more Covid-19 fatalities and 8,450 new cases during the previous 24 hours, the Public Health Ministry announced on Friday morning.

There were 8,239 local cases and 211 imported ones.

On Thursday, 7,484 Covid-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovering from the coronavirus.

Since the pandemic started in early 2020, there have been 2,415,472 Covid-19 cases, including 192,037 cases this year, with 2,309,648 complete recoveries to date.

The death toll stood at 22,126 since the beginning of the pandemic, including 428 so far this year.
