The company is steering farmers towards ingenious farm waste management, where even cow manure is repurposed to nurture earthworms and produce biogas. They're even tapping into the sun's bounty, harnessing solar energy to water crops, leading to a reduction in electrical needs, lower feed costs, and a boost in farmer incomes, all under the umbrella of Good Agricultural Practices standards.

Coffee plantations are seeing a green revolution, too, with Nestlé championing 'agroforestry'—a method where the coffee bushes nestle among the trees, promoting diversity and carbon sequestration. Coffee is being grown alongside other crops, ensuring farmers have several sources of income while also fostering biodiversity. To guard against soil erosion on hilly plantations, cover crops that enrich the soil are being cultivated.

The company's push for sustainability doesn't stop there. Nestlé is pioneering the use of organic fertilizers, created from the composting of coffee husks, revitalizing the soil at reduced costs. They're distributing robust coffee plantlets, better equipped to face the vagaries of disease and climate change, ensuring the sustainability of coffee sourcing.
