Suphachai Chearavanont has been appointed chairman of the executive committee of True Corporation, starting the countdown until he assumes leadership of Charoen Pokphand (CP) Group's empire.

Vichaow Rakphongphairoj and Adhiruth Thothaveesansuk have been named co-presidents. Mr Vichaow will take responsibility for all of True's commercial aspects, while Mr Adhiruth will take charge of all operations.
The appointments were approved by True's board yesterday and are effective from Feb 21.
Mr Suphachai, who now serves as president and chief executive of True, will oversee the management of True starting on Tuesday.
"The new management structure is part of the group's succession implemented at the most appropriate time, considering True's current strong position in all business aspects including finance, product and service quality, innovation, as well as network coverage," Mr Suphachai said.
"As the new chairman of the executive committee, I will continue to oversee the company's direction, policies, strategies and sustainability," he said.
"Being empowered by this new structure at True and my new position as chief executive of CP Group, I will certainly be able to better strengthen our businesses and sustainably create more value for True."
