Thailand's Mjets has been named as one of the world's best business jet-handling operators by readers of a business aviation publication.

The company has beaten Hong Kong as Asia's best for the second year in a row.

It ranked fourth in the 2017 global ratings survey conducted between April 1, 2016 and Feb 10, 2017 by Aviation International News (AIN), the US-based business aviation publication, among its readers.

The survey asked readers to evaluate fixed-base operators (FBOs) they visited the previous year in five categories: line service; passenger amenities; pilot amenities; facilities; and customer service representatives (CSRs).

Mjets' facility at Bangkok's Don Mueang International Airport emerged as the only Asian operator to earn the top-10 AIN rating, which was mostly taken by facilities in Europe.

The other two non-European operators appeared in this year's top-20 listing were Execujet Middle East at Dubai International Airport (13th) and Hong Kong Business Aviation Centre at Hong Kong International Airport (19th).

Mjets received a score of 4.52, compared with 4.70 earned by top performer TAG Farnborough at Farnborough Airport, 4.55 by runner up Universal Aviation at London Stansted Airport and 4.54 by Xjet also at London Stansted Airport.

The survey was conducted over those providing FBO services, referring to aeronautical services such as fuelling, hangaring, tie-down and parking, aircraft rental, aircraft maintenance and other services for corporate and private aircraft.

Mjets executive chairman Jaiyavat Navaraj told the Bangkok Post the high rating earned by Mjets recognised a continued endeavour to bring its business aviation facility to a world-class stature.

The official opening of its state-of-the-art facility, billed as the largest and most comprehensive of its kind in Asia, in September last year is believed have raised its score by 0.04 from 2016.

Mjets is jointly owned by businessmen William Heinecke and Kirit Shah.
