SCG International Corporation expects to increase 2019 revenue by 13% to 46 billion baht as it wants to beef up sales through e-commerce across Asia, mainly from India, China and Southeast Asia.

Formerly known as SCG Trading, the company's name was changed earlier this month to reflect a focus on international trade, business and investment over the next five years.

Bunn Kasemsup, the company's managing director, said SCG plans to expand its business presence across this region through technology and innovation, such as via the digital platform.

"SCG aims to increase competitiveness and join other international partners to expand the portfolio of products, services and integrated solutions to those markets," he said.

"We have witnessed many opportunities to expand the business-to-business model in the target countries and we will provide an integrated business solution through our supply chain on the digital platform to foster market expansion."

Mr Bunn said the new name comes with a new vision to develop businesses and solutions as it aims to keep pace with many industry changes.

SCG International, part of SCG's cement-building materials units, posted revenue in 2018 of 41 billion baht.

Established in 1978, SCG has 21 international trading and representative offices, covering strategic countries around the world, and delivers products and services to over 2,000 companies in 50 countries.

SCG provides many products, services and solutions such as cement and building materials; energy products; industrial and recycled products; automotive products; and agricultural products.

Mr Bunn said the company allocated a budget of 4.5 billion baht for further investment plans, including a digital platform, human resources, training programmes, branding development and joint ventures.

India generates 4-5 billion baht in revenue annually, while China tallies 2-3 billion for SCG International.

"We aim to increase revenues from India and China by another 10-15% annually," he said.

"To achieve this goal, we have to seek more partners in India and China to expand business trading flows."

Mr Bunn said the company is in talks with 2-3 international partners in strategic countries and expected to conclude the business-to-business deals this year.

Under the deals, SCG will provide a model to support local companies in each country to be part of SCG's network.
