The Court of Justice has signed a memorandum of understanding with Counter Service Co to enable certain people to pay fines at 7-Eleven around the clock.
Sarawut Benjakul, the secretary-general of the Court of Justice, said on Tuesday the only fines eligible for payment at 7-Eleven will be those incurred by guarantors who fail to ensure defendants report to the court as a condition of their temporary release. The convenience store will accept payment of fines up to 90,000 baht, he added.
Weeradej Ackapolpanich, assistant vice-president of Counter Service, said people can also pay fines using an online application.
The agreement is part of the court's attempt to improve services by bringing in new technology.
