Paying tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother, on the occasion of her 87th birthday this August 12, which is also Mother’s Day in Thailand, Siam Paragon has organized “Siam Paragon Celebrate Your One-in-a-Million Love Mom” event throughout the month, inviting the public to show their gratitude and offer well-wishes.

Various activities at the mall include:

An exhibition, “Her Royal Graciousness Across Siam”
August 8-18 at Fashion Hall,  1st Floor, Siam Paragon.

Siam Paragon has teamed up with the SUPPORT Foundation under royal patronage to present the exhibition, “Her Royal Graciousness Across Siam”, that stresses on Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s royal initiatives for the well-being of all Thai people through her tireless work for the past 70 years together with His Majesty King Bhumibol, the Great, and           His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua. These include the royal initiates on preservation and support of local textiles across the country. This exhibition is divided into four subjects:

“All Happiness” explains Her Majesty the Queen Mother’s perseverance in supporting all underprivileged Thais who live in poverty or have encountered hardship and natural disasters. Without any conditions, the Queen Mother continues to give and encourage both moral and physical support that offer sustained happiness.

“All Arts” points out the Queen Mother’s far-sighted vision in restoring and developing sustainable occupations for her people by preserving local wisdom, arts and culture. This has brought alive a variety of traditional arts that had once lost their popularity.

“All Science” highlights the Queen Mother’s interest in academics and sciences, and an eagerness to learn since she was young, which include literature, history, geography, and arts and culture. Her knowledge has been transferred to all her children as well as to the general public.

“All Lives” displays different ways that the Queen Mother’s royal initiative projects conserve the environment and animal habitats in water, land, and sea, so they are in abundance. She helps recovering forestry while urging local people to be aware of its degeneration, possess a feeling of belonging, and ultimately learn to live harmoniously and sustainably with their natural environment.

exhibition also presents the Queen Mother’s graciousness in preserving Thailand’s precious treasure, its Khon performance, which has been a national performing art for the past decade. She has endorsed the annual Khon performance – the country’s highest form of theatrical arts – in order to preserve the ancient craftsmanship of Khon masks, costume embroidery, gold and silversmiths, and makeup artists. The highlight is the display of Thosakan’s golden mask, which has never before been seen anywhere, costume jewellery, and Ramayana stories.

Besides this, there will be a demonstration of hand-embroidery and exquisite art pieces close up.

Futhermore, the event offers people the opportunity to shop for various design products created by the Support Foundation, such as silk, cotton, hill-tribe textiles, ready-to-wear clothing and much more. All proceeds from these sales will be donated to the foundation to enhance further support the underprivileged.
