SET tumbles, AoT shares lead losses

The Stock Exchange of Thailand index plunged on Thursday in line with other bourses amid growing concerns over the global coronavirus pandemic.

The SET dived 74.57 points, or 5.97%, to 1,175.32 shortly after the open in turnover of 9 billion baht. The SET50 index faired even worse, plummetting 59.58 points, or 7.24%, to 763.41.

Airports of Thailand shares led the losses as it shed 5 baht, or 8.26%, to 55.50, while PTT Plc shares dropped 1.50 baht, or 5.13%, to 27.75.

The plunge was in line with markets around the world which were in the red after the World Health Organization declared the coronavirus outbreak a pandemic.
