AIA Thailand presents “7th AIA Sharing A Life”

AIA Thailand presents “7th AIA Sharing A Life” giving 12,000 kindness survival bags to 12 provinces for people affected by COVID-19

For the past seven years, AIA Thailand has marshalled its force of employees, life insurance agents, business partners, clients, and the public to contribute back to society under its “AIA Sharing A Life” project. With this year’s theme “Fight Together Against COVID-19,” 12,000 kindness survival bags were handed out to those affected in 12 provinces nationwide on May, 7-8.

Mr. Alger Fung, Chief Executive Officer of AIA Thailand, said: “AIA Thailand is well aware of the effect of the COVID-19 epidemic on many sectors across the country. As a leading insurance company that has served Thais for over 82 years, we conduct our businesses in parallel with giving back to society. Amid a crisis like the one we’re facing now, it is important to us to continue organising AIA Sharing A Life for the seventh time. We pack basic necessities and survival kits into our kindness bags and distribute them to 12 provinces, including Chiang Mai, Phitsanulok, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Nakhon Ratchasima, Amnat Charoen, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Ranong, Songkhla, Trat, and Bangkok. In addition to goodwill and cooperation from fellow employees, agents, business partners, and clients, Bangkok Bank has joined forces in providing relief aid. Most importantly, relevant officials in organising the activities have reached out to help establish the proper Social Distancing practice.

“The AIA Sharing A Life project is about opening up a platform for our employees, agents, and the public to do good for others and society. The main goal is to promote public health and raise living standards of Thai society.”

As it believes in corporate social responsibility and improving society  , AIA Thailand has also created and implemented several other campaigns and programmes. For instance, it is fostering youth football talent and supporting libraries at over 36 school across the country. It has also opened the first “AIA Thailand Border Patrol Police Learning Center (Ban Ba Hee)” at Khemmarat District, Ubon Ratchathani. Over 3,500 cases of cleft lip and palate patients and those with fire and scald scars have been given operations supported by AIA and so found their way back to smiles. More than 4,800 prosthetics have been made and 7,500 safety helmets have been distributed to students nationwide.

“Especially for this year we have zeroed in on alleviating the suffering of the Thai people during crisis. We also give support to government agencies such as Bang Rak District Office in Bangkok who play an important role in looking after our Thai brethren,” said Fung.

“AIA stands firm in our promise to stay side by side with Thai people, get through the crisis together and elevate health and quality of life for Thailand and Asia Pacific in accordance with our brand promise ‘Healthier, Longer, Better Lives.’”
