“Central Restaurants” launches “Every Foood” by Cloud Kitchen

•Teams up with “Krua Khun Toi” to forge ahead with delivery market

•Debuts ‘All-Time’s Favorites’ restaurant hub to serve full-service deliciousness

Central Restaurants Group (CRG) is investing 500 million baht to introduce “Cloud Kitchen”, a new business model for the F&B industry under the concept of “Every Foood”. The aim is to capitalise on the e-commerce market by opening a full delivery service. To this end, CRG is collaborating with “Krua Khun Toi” so customers can choose from different restaurants as selected by Krua Khun Toi and order in one go. The hub sets out to open 50 branches by 2022.

“Cloud Kitchen” is a new business model based on significant collaboration between two leaders in the food industry. The platform is now ready to embark on the New Normal era of the F&B industry through e-Commerce marketing and delivery services. Both platforms are continuously growing. The collaboration responds to changes in consumer behaviour and lifestyles as the trend for online food and delivery services has recently sharply increased in popularity. This new model brings together the expertise of two major forces in the food industry. CRG has expertise in franchise businesses and brand unique identities. “Krua Khun Toi” is a leading restaurant guru that guarantees the quality of the establishments it selects. There will be over 2,000 restaurants under the brand network that will truly differentiate the service for consumers and provide them a new level of experience.

The Cloud Kitchen by “CRG” and “Krua Khun Toi” works as a hub that collates a list of popular restaurants and dishes in the same place for the first time in Thailand. Customers can select dishes from more than one restaurant in the same order. Customers are able to enjoy their favourite dishes and experience less difficulty ordering from separate restaurants. The first branch is located on Nakniwas Road, an area with high demand for food delivery. The first 10 branches will be opened in Bangkok this year and the service will expand to other provinces within next year. The hub aims to expand to 50 branches within 2022.

Central Restaurants Group (CRG) President Nath Vongphanich stated that, “Since the recent situation has resulted in drastic growth in the food delivery market in Thailand, the market value is now at 35 billion baht and delivery services have become essential. Cloud Kitchen represents a significant shift that strengthend delivery service. CRG businesses focus on sustainable principles under the concept of ‘3 Wins’. Customers win because they can place orders much more conveniently and quickly at affordable prices. Partners win because restaurants that collaborate with the hub will be able to generate more income and acquire additional distribution channels at lower cost. The Company wins as there will be opportunities for it to expand and develop the business sustainably with partners and society.”

“The aim of the hub is to become the leader in Cloud Kitchen Management Solutions as we have the expertise as well as high skills due to our long establishment in the F&B industry. We also possess knowledge base, other know-how such as business network, and digital solutions that leverage and strengthen potential expansion for F&B business partner SMEs so they can expand their customer base."

According to TMB Analytics, the e-Commerce market in Thailand in 2019 was at 1,630 trillion baht. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, consumers shifted their shopping behaviours to online platforms, resulting in the Thai e-Commerce market growing by 19% this year, up by around 14.9 billion baht a month. The estimated expenditure engaged via the online platform during the time of COVID increased by 87.7 million baht from the regular period.

“It’s a great opportunity for SMEs to expand their business channels and generate income via online platforms. The new business model will respond to ‘new normal’ consumer trends and increase chances to access new target groups of customers and shift to the online market platform.”

“Current shifts of consumer behaviour have been precipitated by the COVID situation which has forced consumers to  adjust to new ways of purchasing products via online channels. Homes have become a second workplace as people stay home more than ever before. Businesses should expand their channels accordingly to generate income and cover more groups of customers. Food businesses are able fully compete thanks to the food delivery sector. The launch of Cloud Kitchen features more technology and management solutions to enable the restaurants to compete. This will help businesses operate more efficiently and provide customers with better quality services than ever before.”

Born Project Co., Ltd (Krua Khun Toi) President Tripop Limpapath commented that, “We are delighted to collaborate with CRG. The potentiality of ‘Krua Khun Toi’ as a food guru leader that selects only the best and tastiest products for consumers is tremendous. We are therefore delighted to add our ‘Top Picks’ restaurants to the Cloud Kitchen. Gastronomes can freely select different dishes from their favourite restaurants in one go. It also marks a great opportunity for Thai food SMEs to enter the new delivery market, target new groups of customers, and generate more income. In summary, we are convinced that  e-Commerce is a good solution for the food trade in the post-COVID-19 era."
