The Aspen Tree at the Forestias – home with lifetime care – is a healthy living community for seniors which will provide holistic lifetime care with an ageing-in-place concept to ensure residents receive the all-around services and support to stay healthy, happy and hassle-free.

Thailand is already considered an ageing society, notes Hye June Park, President of The Aspen Tree. It is one of the top countries with a population of older adults growing rapidly.

“The ageing population is a big trend. I think it’s the right time to think about life after retirement and what kind of life you wish to have,” she said. “A lot of people are looking for options for their retirement and one of their considerations is an excellent quality living community for themselves.”

“When people look at a seniors’ community, there are three criteria under consideration in general,” she said.

“The first is environment. They should consider whether the environment is safe enough or adaptable enough for a change of physical things. Facilities should be designed to be adaptable, otherwise they might consider moving somewhere else.”

“The second is community. It is not just a physical but also a social or soft community where people can interact together because social interaction is extremely important at this age.”

“The third is quality of service and healthcare accessibility.”

“When we talk about ageing, it is not only a one-time thing where ageing progresses slowly but also a cycle from active or independent living to assisted living and then high care or palliative care, so the service and healthcare programmes for seniors need to be designed seamlessly and holistically throughout all stages of the ageing process. We are very positive The Aspen Tree is the first ever project aiming to promote the concept of Healthy Living and Lifetime Care; the role model and reference for ideal seniors’ community living in Thailand.”

A lot of research studies show that when senior people move to a new environment, because of their physical or mental limitations, they get stressed a lot and are not happy. They want to live in a place where they feel comfortable.

“The Aspen Tree is in a green environment within The Forestias, a forested community across 398 rai. It’s a multi-generational living community with safe and high quality environments,” said Ms Hye June.

Home with a lifetime care at The Aspen Tree will comprise three buildings of Active Living Condominiums with 250 units and two towers of Sky Villa Residences with 40 units. They are specifically designed for senior people with universal design that is principally focused on comfort, safety and convenience, being equipped with emergency buttons, home intelligence systems, so on and so forth.

The Aspen Tree is created under the “ageing-in-place” concept for residents to live independently and safely, enjoying their homes and a community that connects them with society, nature and facilitates access to comprehensive lifetime care. The overall benefits of living in The Aspen Tree include daily activities for active healthy living and longevity, lifetime service for your convenience and to suit your lifestyle, lifetime care for your peace of mind and worry-free living.

“At The Aspen Tree, holistic lifetime care with services and residences will be provided to ensure a superior quality of life for seniors in Thailand,” said Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Head of Marketing of The Aspen Tree.

“Your most beautiful chapter in life can start at The Aspen Tree,” he said. “The concept we are introducing is a total holistic preventive care. We aim to make your life longer. We want you to be holistically healthy; physically, emotionally, socially and cognitively.”

He said holistic lifetime care consists of four main components: multi-generational living environment with caring and attention in all details, health & wellness programmes, impeccable services specifically for seniors and healthcare insurance which will cover up to 40 million baht a year up to 99 years old.

“We will provide health & wellness activities for active ageing and prevention in collaboration with Baycrest, a global leader in geriatric residential living and specialised in brain health and ageing,” he added.

The Aspen Tree will also have a Health & Brain Center for residents in need of a higher level of health and home care. Care options will include a 24/7 professional healthcare team, geriatric clinics, brain and memory care, skilled nursing, a short-term rehab centre, adult day care and long-term care residential units.

“What sets us apart from other senior living choices is the special attention to detail that we bring to each resident on each day. Some of those services include daily healthy breakfast at an all-day restaurant with inhouse chef and nutritionist, weekly housekeeping, concierge services, 24-hour security, smart living app and tablet, wearable device for safety and health, and last but not least, our purpose-built wellness clubhouse with indoor and outdoor pools, restaurants, convenience store, business lounge, spa & beauty salon, arts & crafts room, media & theatre room,” Vithaya added.

“For healthcare insurance, we partner with Muang Thai Life to provide a privilege of prestigious health protection with maximum coverage up to 40 million baht per year and up to 99 years old,” he said. “We have to make sure that our residents will be happy and worry-free from day one.”

Developed by property developer Magnolia Quality Development Corporation Limited (MQDC), The Aspen Tree is located at The Forestias on Bang Na-Trat KM 7 where residents will live in extensive green space with leisure amenities, workplaces, shops, and other facilities.

Global organisations and experts in many fields have contributed to developing The Aspen Tree and its services to meet the needs of Thai society and set best practices, giving the world a model of integrated care for older adults.
