Siam Piwat Simon Co, the operator of Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, has rolled out a package of strategies to attract foreign shoppers to its store in the second half of this year.

Michael Tang, the company's managing director, said that in line with the country's reopening policy, the number of international tourists shopping at Siam Premium Outlets grew by more than 80% from April to May. The vast majority of shoppers were wealthy tourists from India, the Middle East, and Singapore.

At present, foreign tourists are likely to continue shopping at its outlet due to the government's policy to completely reopen Thailand, he said.

Therefore, the company has collaborated with Trip.com, one of the world's biggest online travel agencies, to allow customers to book shuttle bus services through the site.

In addition, the store's currency exchange service has been reopened to improve the convenience and speed with which foreign currencies can be converted.

With the support of participating stores, the e-VAT return for tourists programme is in operation and a limousine service can be arranged to transport customers to destinations as far away as Hua Hin and Pattaya.

"With the Covid-19 situation easing, many leading brands around the world from luxury fashion, lifestyle brands and fashion brands opened their outlets at Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok in the first half of this year," said Mr Tang.

They included American fashion designer Michael Kors and skincare and fragrance product maker Bath & Body Works.

Swiss Watch has exclusively opened its shop at Siam Premium Outlets Bangkok, selling various watch brands such as Longines, Maurice Lacroix and Oris.

Other brands which have opened here include: Mossimo, a new street fashion brand from California; Wish & Co, a cafe selling Disney and other character-licensed products; Komfy, a premium mattress and pillow brand; Origani, a beauty service brand with natural skin care products from Australia; and Shoebar, a multi-brand store. The Cosmetic Company Store under Elca (Thailand), the marketer of Estee Lauder, Clinique, Origins, MAC, and Bobbi Brown, will open its outlet in the third quarter of this year along with Versace, the Italian luxury fashion brand.

In addition, the company is negotiating with several luxury fashion brands to open their outlets.

Mr Tang said the performance of Siam Premium Outlets in 2021 was very satisfactory, driven by local consumers, with the momentum continuing.

In the second half of this year, he said the company would continue to closely monitor the global and Thai economic situations, such as the Russia-Ukraine war and potential inflation threats, particularly uncontrollable risk variables in the environment.
