BOI attends the grand opening of Alibaba's first data centre in Thailand

Mr. Narucha Ruchuphan, Senior Executive Investment Advisor, Thailand Board of Investment (BOI), attended an event to mark the grand opening of Alibaba's first data centre in Thailand held at Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok on 30 June 2022. Alibaba was represented by Mr. Selina Yuan, Vice President, Alibaba Group, and President, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence International, Dr. Derek Wang, General Manager for Singapore, South Asia and Thailand, Alibaba Cloud Intelligence. Also present were Mr. Thanasorn Jaidee, President of True Digital Park Co.,Ltd, and Ms. Pornpen Kaewsurapol, General Manger, COM7 Public Company Limited.

Alibaba's data centre will provide cloud service in Thailand, which is Alibaba’s 27th cloud country worldwide. The investment in cloud services is enhancing the potential of Thailand's digital infrastructure and helping Thailand become the region’s digital hub.

The Alibaba data centre has received investment promotion privileges from the BOI and is certified with ISO27001 and ISO20000 standards. It also complies with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act and the applicable financial regulations issued by the Bank of Thailand.
