Central Retail Corporation (CRC) is claiming leadership in environmental awareness and sustainability with a new campaign.

"It is CRC's conviction to build a promising future for the generations to come by reinforcing its position as Thailand's first green and sustainable retail company," said chief executive Yol Phokasub.

"We are committed to following the UN's sustainable development goals, promoting a bio-, circular and green economic model, and driving the environmental, social and corporate governance agenda."

The company used this universal blueprint as a foundation for the development of its CRC ReNEW strategy, aiming for growth by operating with the highest sustainability standards, he said.

In support of this strategy, CRC set a long-term goal to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

Mr Yol said the company's short-term goals for 2030 included reducing greenhouse gases by 30%, improving societal welfare by generating income of 5.4 billion baht per year for local communities, utilising 100% eco-friendly packaging across all its businesses, and managing waste and reducing food waste by 30%.

CRC also developed long-term roadmaps that require consistent action and collaboration across all units.

"We intend to pass on this mission to the next generation of management members, and we will continue to take on this important role so we can pass on a promising future for the generations to come," he said.
