SET-listed retail and property developer Central Pattana (CPN) is collaborating with partners from the public and private sectors as well as non-profit organisations to host "The Urgent Project -- Better Future is Now" at CentralWorld.

Dubbed the first "Sustainability Experiential Space" in the heart of the city, the exhibition runs through Oct 30 at CentralWorld, highlighting CPN's vision of "Imagining Better Futures for All" and its "Power of Synergy" strategies.

"Central Pattana is constantly evolving to create a strong, sustainable ecosystem as a 'placemaker' of the future that connects and creates a balance between people and the planet by being at the centre of life. We look after people and communities wherever we go to pass on a better planet and environment to the next generation," said Wallaya Chirathivat, president and chief executive of CPN.

Ms Wallaya said one change that will bring a better future is cooperation between everyone, which includes synergy between partners that share the same goal to create awareness for customers in terms of changing lifestyles.

Exhibitions at the project aim to create a learning space that will help visitors digest sustainability issues in a way that is easy to understand. The project emphasises environmental awareness through lifestyle simulations as well as workshops and educational discussions by green influencers led by Wannasingh, Maria, Top Pipat, Noon Siraphun and artist Pae TAM:DA.

The project is a partnership with PTT Group, led by EVme, on-ion and Swap & Go, Siam Cement, Nestlé (Thai), Huawei Technologies (Thailand), Thonburi Phanich, EV Primus and Evolt Technology among others.

People can visit the exhibitions at the Beacon Zone on the 1st floor of CentralWorld until Oct 30.

The retail conglomerate is also moving towards its goal of becoming the first retail-led mixed-use developer to achieve net zero emissions by 2050 through the implementation of two key strategies, she said.

Ms Wallaya said CPN's "Inside-Out" strategy creates a culture within the firm by piloting several green initiatives such as establishing international green building standards by installing solar cells at every project, developing smart buildings, installing recycling stations, adding community green spaces and planting 1 million trees. Its "Outside-In" strategy creates shared value with stakeholders using the UN's sustainable development goals as a guideline.
