The Revenue Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with a company to allow taxpayers filing online to make payments by credit card.

Phadcha Pongkeeratiyu, the department’s deputy director-general, represented the department at the signing ceremony with executives of 2C2P (Thailand) Co for the new tax payment channel.

Taxpayers filing online can use the company's easyBills mobile application to pay their dues using MasterCard credit cards issued by banks in Thailand.

Ms Phadcha said the department had coordinated with several public and private organisations to facilitate taxpayers.

Currently, they can pay taxes at post offices, banks and department stores.

She said 2C2P was its 32nd payments partners under a policy to encourage more people to use the electronic tax filing system. The move also helps improve Thailand's  electronic transaction competitiveness and upgrades payment systems to international standards.
