Total Access Communication (DTAC), the country's third largest mobile operator by subscribers, is launching a simple SIM package, plus Internet of Things (IoT) and smart connectivity solutions, to help businesses cope with challenges during a difficult time.

DTAC chief business officer Rajiv Bawa said the WorryFree SIM cards come with no hidden fees and unlimited connectivity.

Business clients who use the new SIM get automatic data package upgrades.

This means existing clients are always guaranteed to be on plans equally attractive to those offered to new clients, Mr Bawa said.

DTAC also offers more than a dozen IoT solutions for all industries via expert partners in connected devices, systems integration and solutions development.

These solutions are also integrated with DTAC's own technology, including a managed IoT cloud platform and 4G IoT SIM connectivity.

According to Mr Bawa, DTAC provides consultancy services on IoT investment tailored to each industry, including the agricultural sector.

DTAC expects IoT business in the country to grow from 3.6 billion baht in 2018 to 9.6 billion in 2023.

In terms of smart connectivity solutions, DTAC is adopting multiple cloud services, building upon DTAC's strength in connectivity and mobility and synergising with strategic partners in leading cloud services, he said.

"We are focusing on resolving businesses' pain points easily and worry-free," said Mr Bawa.

He said businesses need to digitalise their sales channels and operations and enable their remote workforce to collaborate securely and control costs.

These solutions and DTAC's five core assistance facets -- mobility, messaging, IoT, connectivity and cloud -- will help "enterprises to leapfrog through the digital future", said Mr Bawa.

DTAC has rebranded its corporate service unit as DTAC Business, which means it does not focus on the size of the business with which it engages.

There are roughly 50,000 corporate clients for DTAC Business.

Despite having no fixed broadband service as its major rivals do, DTAC is highlighting its mobility business concept with simple IT tools and well-designed solutions that can be implemented without an IT team.

"Each operator has different strengths in business strategy, and we focus on our strength and support business needs," Mr Bawa said.

DTAC yesterday notified the Stock Exchange of Thailand of the nomination of Sirawit Klabdee, the company's senior vice-president, as interim chief financial officer, effective Nov 1.

Mr Sirawit is also head of the business finance division at DTAC.

The announcement comes after Dilip Pal tendered his resignation, effective Oct 31.

Mr Pal, who has served as chief financial officer since 2017, decided to leave the company to pursue other opportunities.
