Since the import of Bosch's first 'spark plug' to Thailand in 1923, Bosch Thailand has experienced exponential growth and is now recognised as a leading multinational engineering and technology company, employing over 1,500 individuals. In honour of Bosch Thailand's 100th anniversary, the inaugural "Bosch Charity Run" was organised. This marks a historic milestone as Bosch Thailand hosts its first charity run, with a focus on promoting sustainability and minimising environmental impact. The company remains dedicated to investing in Thailand, driven by a vision of innovation and sustainability.

Scheduled for October 29, 2023, from 4:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., the event welcomed a diverse group of participants, including employees, locals, and wheelchair users passionate about exercise. Various routes ranging from 3 to 21 km were available. The event was held at Ramayana Water Park, Khao Chi Chan, Sattahip District, Chon Buri Province.

Mr. Joseph Jackson Ngo Hong, Managing Director of Bosch Thailand, remarked, "Bosch Thailand's 100th anniversary charity run mirrors our century-long journey, combining innovation with sustainable practices. This event underscores our unwavering commitment to advancing sustainability across various domains."

The charity run is fully aligned with sustainable event management principles, including measures to minimise waste through recycling stations. A running shirt is crafted from approximately 20 recycled plastic bottles (PET 600cc), effectively repurposing waste materials. A medal is fashioned from around 30 plastic bottle caps collected from Bosch offices and manufacturing plants, highlighting an internal campaign to raise recycling awareness.

Furthermore, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of charity run tickets, amounting to 100,000 baht, was donated to the Hand-to-Hand Foundation, situated in Pattaya City, Chon Buri Province. This foundation supports individuals across various age groups, promotes cohabitation among underprivileged families, and offers a community centre where locals can enhance vocational skills and earn income. As part of the event, Bosch has invited the foundation to set up a Thai massage booth, offering runners the opportunity to relax their muscles post-run while generating additional income for the foundation and community members.

Mr. Hong, added, "The Bosch Charity Run exemplifies our unwavering commitment, organised on the pillars of sustainability and community engagement. It embodies the values that have guided us over the past century. Together, we stride toward a future characterised by progress, responsibility, and enduring positive impact."

The event serves to strengthen collaboration between businesses and local authorities, channelling income to the local community. Alongside support for the Hand-to-Hand Foundation, the event promotes local culinary and beverage offerings, contributing to the success of local enterprises and stimulating the regional economy while enhancing the community's image.

Bosch's business operations and management strategies are founded upon social responsibility, environmental sustainability, renewable energy, and eco-friendly product development. The Bosch Charity Run stands as another testament to the celebration of sustainability, community engagement, employee involvement, and inclusivity.
