Retail and property developer Central Pattana Plc (CPN) is scheduled to open Central Westville, its first low-carbon shopping complex, on Nov 29 as it solidifies its retail presence in western Bangkok.
Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, CPN's chief marketing officer, said the 6.2-billion-baht complex occupies a 40-rai plot and is meant to upgrade retail and lifestyle in the Ratchapruek area.
Spanning 93,000 square metres, Central Westville caters to a catchment of more than 600,000 individuals. CPN anticipates a daily footfall of 30,000 to 50,000.
"Central Westville will be the first-ever nature-harmonised retail and will be a prototype of the shopping centre for a sustainable future for all. It is also the first shopping centre that meets the needs of 'People, Pets and Planet', with an around-the-clock lifestyle covering people's lifestyles from morning to midnight,'' Mr Nattakit said.
According to Mr Nattakit, Central Westville is the most complete lifestyle venue in Ratchapruek, offering a comprehensive experience, with more than 300 well-known brands and 80 restaurants, providing all-day dining options.
Designed to meet the needs of every generation within families, Central Westville accommodates dining, entertainment for kids, pet-friendly facilities, sports, and fashion offerings.
The venue includes major anchors such as a new concept store design of Central Department Store called 'Central Factory', which covers 19,000 square metres of space, with an investment cost of 750 million baht.
The new concept store emphasises loft design using repurposed materials such as steel frames and woodwork to maximise natural lighting. It will also house Tops Food Hall, Power Buy, B2S ThinkSpace, Supersports, and OfficeMate.
Additionally, Central Westville will host over 80 dining establishments catering from morning to late at night, coupled with 70 popular fashion brands. Noteworthy is the introduction of Kiztopia, a large indoor playground from Singapore, making its debut in Thailand.
Furthermore, the facility introduces Jetts Black, a premium fitness centre, open daily from 6am until midnight, with the aim of providing alternative options for patrons to enhance their fitness levels.
One of the most unique features of Central Westville is its pet-friendly zone, covering over 1,000 sq m, offering a comprehensive range of pet facilities, including 17 pet-welcoming eateries in a semi-outdoor setting.
Juthatham Chirathivat, head of business development at CPN, said Central Westville in Ratchapruek marks the 40th shopping centre in the company's strategic network across Bangkok.
It caters to urbanisation demands and serves customers by providing access to popular restaurants and shopping options without the need to travel to central Bangkok.
Ms Juthatham said the Ratchapruek area exhibits significant potential, mirroring high urban growth comparable to the central business district area, linking various major zones in Bangkok, from Sathon, Phetkasem, Boromratchonnanee to Nonthaburi and Pathum Thani provinces.
