THG-owned hospital considering 7 investment projects

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital is studying seven new investment projects as part of its strategic plan to expand aggressively in the wellness and aesthetics market over the next several years.

The hospital will open a new Jin Wellness clinic next month at Siam Paragon as its flagship beauty and aesthetics clinic.

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital, part of the SET-listed Thonburi Healthcare Group Plc (THG), also plans to open Saha Thai Urban Wellness this year. The 1-billion-baht wellness centre covers 12,000 square metres in total.

The hospital is considering building La Torre, a new 6-billion-baht luxury condominium complex on Rama III, which is expected to open in early 2028. The 43-storey project will feature a state-of-the-art wellness centre and is aimed at the urban senior care market.

Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital is studying two wellness projects located outside Bangkok, the first of which is the 30-unit Jin Sabai Wellness Residence in Hua Hin, a 650-million-baht wellness facility and spa which is expected to open in mid-2025.

Jin Wellbeing at Sireh in Phuket is estimated to be worth 4.2 billion baht. It features 280 residential units contained within three towers and is aimed at the international market. The project is expected to open by 2025.

Thonburi Healthcare Group projects strong growth for its BeWell Health and Wellness venture in Vietnam.

These projects will supplement a growing portfolio that also includes the 1.2-billion-baht The Hills Rehab and Wellness project, which opened in 2022 as a rehabilitation, wellness and spa in Mae Rim, Chiang Mai.

According to the Global Wellness Institute, Thailand's wellness economy is projected to be worth 1.1 trillion baht by 2025. This includes traditional and personalised medicine, wellness tourism and personal care and beauty.

As part of its strategic investment plan, Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital has partnered with Bangkok Anti-Aging Clinic (BAAC) and M Mind Clinic to develop new wellness products and services to meet growing demand in Thailand and abroad.

The first initiative under the partnership will be launched next month, with M Mind collaborating with the hospital to operate the new Jin Wellness clinic at Siam Paragon. The facility, which covers a 347-square-metre area, will offer a full range of wellness and aesthetics services, including genetic testing and nutrition therapy.

Dr Thitipong Nandhabiwat, chief executive of Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital, said the partnership would help the hospital build on its existing expertise in medical innovation and technology.

Dr Phuwasa Warasitthikon, chief executive of M Mind Clinic, said the collaboration with Thonburi Bamrungmuang Hospital was an important step forward in jointly developing the country's cosmetic surgery industry.

"We want to bring Korea's expertise to the local market," she said.
