Central Marketing Group (CMG), a subsidiary of Central Retail Corporation and a leading distributor of more than 30 top global brands in fashion, beauty, watches and technology segments, plans to invest over 7 billion baht to grow sales by more than 20% this year.

CMG's recent growth is due to strong performance of its key brands, new brand launches, data-driven customer marketing, and omni-channel marketing.

"Our vision is to be the leading omni-channel brand retailer and employer of choice. We aim to bring the world's best brands and retail experiences to Thais," said company president Edwin Yap Hawson.

"Our commitment to providing our customers with the best brands and highest quality products and services is one factor driving our continued growth, as our net retail sales grew 28% year-on-year in 2023."

Mr Hawson recently revealed CMG's major strategies going forward.

In order to drive omni-channel in the digital age, brands are aiming for seamless connections at every customer touchpoint.

CMG is emphasising growth of its omni-channel capability, including launching Casio and MLB websites last year. Furthermore, the group opened more than 180 new points of sale last year, bringing its total store number in malls and department stores to more than 2,200, Mr Hawson said.

CMG is always on the lookout for new global brands while strengthening its partnerships with existing brands, said Mr Hawson. Last year, CMG added top brands such as Crocs and Fila to its brand portfolio and took over distribution of Skechers, the American footwear brand, across all Central department stores and CPN malls.

In addition, CMG also launched L:A Bruket, a Swedish organic beauty brand, to address the evolving beauty needs of Thai consumers.

The group recognises its people make the difference, invests in them and offers them progressive career tracks, Mr Hawson said.

CMG won the Kincentric "Best Employers Award" for a fifth consecutive year in 2023.

"This year, we will continue to leap ahead of our competition by utilising artificial intelligence analytics, new technology and automation to help our team in improving our operational processes, customer service at-store, omnichannel, and CRM expertise," said Mr Hawson.

"We will accelerate our innovations across all our brands, while addressing the increasingly sophisticated needs of customers in fashion and beauty. We also want to work to solidify our leadership in the Thai retail industry, while expanding overseas to Vietnam, where Central Retail Corporation already has a strong presence."
