True Digital Park, the largest tech and startup hub in Asean, continues its mission of accelerating innovation in climate tech towards Thailand's net-zero goal through fostering the growth of climate tech startups via collaborations with its partner network.
The park focuses on four key groups of climate tech startups, including e-mobility, decarbonisation, agritech and energy, according to Thanasorn Jaidee, president of True Digital Park.
Climate change is one of the world's biggest risks, as highlighted in the World Economic Forum's Global Risks Report 2024, with extreme weather events ranking as the top environmental risk trend for the next decade, he added.
Mr Thanasorn said the climate tech market is growing due to the demand for innovations that address the sustainability concerns of businesses worldwide.
This will help businesses enhance their environmental focus and reduce risks amid increasingly stringent government policies and regulations globally focusing on reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
However, climate tech startups still require support from the government and assistance in terms of both marketing and access to funding sources to drive continuous innovation and long-term industry advancement, Mr Thanasorn said.
True Digital Park prioritises sustainability by developing environmentally-friendly projects and designs, focusing on creating natural environments with over 23,000 square metres of green and open spaces.
It also leverages advanced technology to increase energy efficiency and reduce pollution.
Furthermore, it drives the growth of climate tech startups through various collaborations and initiatives to create a strong network, stimulating responsible actions to address climate change and work towards achieving net-zero emissions.
Currently, the park has a combination of more than 5,800 startups, tech entrepreneurs and leading organisations, both domestic and international. The park also has 14,000 active members.
On Monday True Digital Park held "Decarbonize Thailand Symposium 2024: Path to Net Zero Collaboration" for the second consecutive year in collaboration with New Energy Nexus (Thailand). The event brings together climate tech startups from four groups it focuses on as well as leading organisations.
Tarit Nimmanwudipong, general manager of True Digital Park, said the event was held in collaboration with New Energy Nexus (Thailand), along with Denso International Asia, True Corporation and many other partners. The aim is to expand the dimension of cooperation to accelerate technology adoption for greenhouse gas reduction and raise business awareness across various industries to tackle climate change challenges and transition to a low-carbon economy.
The highlights included lectures and panel discussions by leading organisations as well as a showcase of various solution innovations from leading climate tech startups.
Of all four groups of climate tech innovators, True Digital Park collaborated with New Energy Nexus (Thailand) to connect with over 20 startups, both domestic and international, to showcase their cases at the event.
