PTT boosts oil reserves

PTT Public Company Limited, the national oil and gas conglomerate, announced an increase in its oil reserves in preparation for the People's Democratic Reform Committee's plan to "shut down" Bangkok on Monday.

Pairin Chuchotetavorn, president and chief executive officer of PTT, said PTT petrol stations and oil depots had been instructed to fully fill their reserves next week.

Mr Pairin said the company will coordinate with the government's Centre for the Administration of Peace and Order (Capo) when transporting fuels in risk areas.

The anti-government PDRC hopes to topple the caretaker government and ensure national reform before the next general election, presently planned for Feb 2.
