K Plus of Kasikornbank has emerged as Thailand's most popular app on Apple's iOS platform in a report which also saw commercial banks dominate the list.
Mobile app developer Appsynth released a report on Friday showing K Plus leading all Thai-based, non-game apps downloaded from Apple's App Store, with four apps by other commercial banks also in the top 20.
SCB Easy app of Siam Commercial Bank came second, followed by KTB netbank of Krungthai Bank, Bualuang mBanking of Bangkok Bank and Krungsri of Bank of Ayudhya.
The report did not show the number of downloads and Appsynth said the data was compiled by AppAnnie, an app analytics and market data firm.
"While one might expect banks to enjoy high download numbers given their large existing customer bases, this dominance reflects how heavily many Thai banks are investing in digital platforms," Appsynth said.
The rankings were released in conjunction with the 10th year anniversary of App Store of Apple Inc, which was launched in July 2008.
For non-bank apps, TV Thailand was the third most popular app downloaded on devices. The app, developed by Nattapong Tonprasert, offers access to TV and other entertainment programmes.
Four other apps for entertainment -- Thailand TV, Thai Radio, ThaiTV Live and Thai Tune (TV) Free --were among the top 20.
Wongnai, an app for foodies, was also on the list at ninth.
