From clothing to jewellery, some of the best products southern Thailand has to offer are now being displayed at an expo in Phnom Penh’s Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Held under the name ‘Southern Thailand Best Products at Phnom Penh’, the fair showcases a wide variety of products from Songkhla, Yala, Pattani, Narathiwat and Satun, the Khmer Times reported on Friday.

The fair, which kicked off on Thursday, brings together more than 50 Thai firms, who will introduce their products to Cambodians -- including foodstuff, shoes and cosmetics -- in a venue decorated with traditional motifs from the five participating Thai provinces.

“The event will serve as a platform for Cambodian and Thai companies to network,” said Rattana Theanvisitsatkool, an inspector general of the Thai Commerce Ministry.

Last year, trade between the countries was valued at US$6 billion (194 billion baht), 10% higher than the year before.
