Saithip denies dismissal

Saithip Montrikul Na Audhaya, an executive of GMM Grammy's GMM Channel Trading, the operator of GMM25 digital TV channel and A-Time Media, denied being sacked, saying she has been promoted.

Saithip: It's really a promotion

Noted news reporter Narakorn "Tah" Tiyanont created a ruckus over the weekend when she posted on her Facebook page "Lightning at GMM25 and A-Time Media".

Ms Saithip, chief operating officer of GMM Grammy's GMM Media, who was in charge of both companies as the highest executive, is supposedly deputy managing director of GMM Channel Trading, which she said is a more important role in the company.

She confirmed she is still responsible for content production, but in greater detail.

"I'm still working at GMM Grammy. I was not sacked; rather I was promoted to take charge of GMM Channel Trading," Ms Saithip said.

In August last year, Adelfos Co, led by brothers Panote and Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi, acquired a 50% stake in GMM Channel Trading Co, the operator of standard-definition digital TV GMM25 channel.

Ms Saithip said the business operations and staff have not changed following the purchase.

Meanwhile, group chief executive Boosaba Daoruang will be acting chief executive for GMM25 and A-Time Media until one is appointed.

Ms Saithip was tipped as deputy managing director while Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi is managing director and Paiboon Damrongchaitham is the group's chief executive.

GMM Channel Trading's business comprises GMM25 digital TV channel, a group of A-Time Media radio stations, GMM TV and the A-Time Traveler, a travel agency.

Ms Saithip said the reason for her promotion is for her to work harder in controlling content production after the re-organisation.
