Thailand saw a 0.17% increase in tourist arrivals in February year-on-year, after a 4.91% rise in January, the Tourism and Sports Ministry said on Wednesday.

Visitors from China, Thailand's biggest source of tourists, fell 12.29% in February from a year earlier after jumping 10.29% in January.

The 3.57 million tourists spent about 192 billion baht in February, down 0.84 % from a year earlier.

Foreign tourist receipts account for about 12% of Thailand's gross domestic product.
