French artist makes Thailand his playground

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

Renowned French artist Jisbar will showcase 20 of his works at "Jisbar's Playground" at SO Sofitel Bangkok's Park Lobby, Sathon Road, from Wednesday until March 13.

This is the 30-year-old's first exhibition in Asia and features 10 new pieces of lithography which are being displayed for the first time.

Jisbar is a Paris-based pop artist whose works are a reflection of a society deeply immersed in pop culture and of a generation overwhelmed by media. His creations take aspects of our information-saturated society and reinterpret them to create his own universe.

Jisbar is a pop street artist who works with urgency to depict the stories that animate his day-to-day life and to provide commentary on contemporary society. He draws inspiration from fashion, music, pop art and the underground style of the world of street art, graffiti and motifs. Using a myriad of colours, he spreads a punk style and pictorial freedom.

His work has been displayed at major galleries in Italy, the US, France, Australia and the UK. His art is an inspiration to many and he has collaborated with several brands and on high-profile events.
