Script presentations, talks, workshops and a free screening -- the Southeast Asia Fiction Film Lab (known as SEAFIC) will host its Open House session at Alliance Francaise starting Saturday and running till Monday Oct 28, when it concludes with an awards presentation for outstanding projects.

SEAFIC Open House is a public event, and though film professionals will be particularly interested to meet Southeast Asian filmmakers and international guests, anyone is invited to take part.

On Saturday, international film experts will share their insights in various talk sessions. Georges Goldenstern from Cannes Cinefondation will impart some of his expertise, as will Albert Lee from Hong Kong Film Festival and Sophie Bourdon from Locarno Film Festival.

On Sunday, there will be a screening of Filipino drama Women Of The Weeping River. Set in Mindanao, the film tells the story of a blood feud and the pressure felt by women in a violent and deeply conservative society. There will be a discussion after the screening.

At 6pm on Sunday, the live final pitch will take place. This is the culmination of SEAFIC's months-long script lab which began in February, where Southeast Asian Filmmakers participated in intense script development sessions with international experts. The pitch on Sunday by filmmakers from Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines and Vietnam will decide which film projects receive cash prizes and other support to facilitate shooting.

All events are free of charge.
