"Sala Digital Concert Series" is a new initiative encouraging music lovers to support artists in their musical endeavours amid Covid-19 measures when going to physical concerts is no longer the preferred choice.

Launched by Sala Sudasiri Sobha, hailed as Thailand's best concert hall, the crowdfunding project so far has organised many digital concerts where different groups of classical musicians have performed at the concert hall on Sundays, with recordings of the show premiering on Sala Sudasiri Sobha's official website and Facebook page.

Two more interesting shows are scheduled for this Sunday and Sept 13, both starting at 4pm.

Held to mark the 100th birthday anniversary of the late statesman Gen Prem Tinsulanonda, the Aug 30 concert will feature the Yontararak family who will perform Gen Prem's compositions arranged by Nat Yotararak.

The Sept 13 show will be a jazz performance by Tewan Subsaenyakorn, a legendary figure recognised as the father of Thai jazz. He will perform using various woodwind instruments -- Thai flute, Chinese flute and saxophone -- together with Łukasz Kurzydło, the talented Polish percussionist. Their amazing energy rendered through their jazz improvisation is sure to keep everyone mesmerised throughout the show.

Both concerts can be viewed from salasudasirisobha.com and facebook.com/salasudasirisobha.

Audiences are also invited to make a donation of 1,000 baht for each show. Part of the proceeds will support expenses for the artists' video content creation and one of the two charity projects -- Art for Cancer by Ireal and Duang Prateep Foundation.
