Winter is coming to Bangkok

A magical snowy wonderland comes to life on April 18 with ‘Ice Magic: Fantasy On Ice’

ARTS & ENTERTAINMENT

The hot, hot, hot temperatures are about to cool down in Bangkok with the arrival of ”Ice Magic: Fantasy On Ice”. The winter playground will bring the cool to Bangkok from April 18 to July 16 and a limited offering of early-bird tickets and packages will be available until April 17.

Held at The Market Bangkok, a trendy shopping mall, the 3,000m² playground will be the largest pop-up ice and snow attraction ever constructed in Thailand, bringing its sub-zero, real ice and snow activities to the country for the first time.

It’s the perfect escape for heat-escaping people who want to swap their summer wear for snuggly coats, hats and gloves. The tent, which stands at 11.5m tall, will be separated into ice and snow zones, with unique attractions in each.

Snow Zone

Snow will be created by the same snow-making machines used in the Beijing Winter Olympics 2022, flown into Bangkok to bring the authentic experience of real snow to visitors.

Over the course of 20 straight days prior to the opening, the snow machines will pump out fresh, fluffy crystal white snow. Guests can experience building a snowman, making snow angels and daily fresh snowfalls. This zone will also house an 80m ski slope, one of the longest and tallest ever constructed in Thailand, offering both ski and snowboard lessons.

Ice Zone

The Ice Zone runs parallel to the Snow Zone and will bring a variety of attractions that have never been seen in Thailand before, including a 300m² ice rink and merry-go-round on ice. Take a spin on the carousel for a magical experience.

The centrepiece of the Ice Zone is a double-lane slide made of ice. At 148m, it’s one of the longest indoor man-made ice slides in the world. The slide is complemented by spectacular ice sculptures hand-crafted by master ice sculptors from Harbin, China, the home of the famous Harbin Ice Festival, including a stunning elephant sculpture given the animal represents a powerful symbol in Thailand. This magnificent artwork is available for visitors to admire, take pictures with and even touch!
