The evening performance will feature a wide range of classical music compositions in a variety of genres to suit all tastes. The programme mixes well-known pieces with some that perhaps will be less familiar to local audiences but certainly no less stirring.

The main work, directed by Margaret Young, is a set of choral pieces, From The Bavarian Highlands by Edward Elgar, one of the best-loved English composers. Written by Elgar following a 1894 holiday, these six short songs are based on traditional tunes of Alpine Bavaria with words by his wife, Alice, adapted from local ballads.

Later set to orchestra, the song cycle's original piano accompaniment will be played here by Morakot Cherdchoo-ngarm.

The repertoire also includes several solo and ensemble pieces, among them Scott Joplin's ragtime The Entertainer (For 4 Hands) and Amy Beach's Violin Romance. Also expect arias from Handel's opera Samson; motets of the English Renaissance; as well as Mozart's trio for clarinet, viola and piano, in addition to other delightful pieces for voice, violin and piano played by BMS members.

Tickets cost 600 baht (300 baht for students) and can be purchased at the door and via ticketmelon.com.
