AUG 2

The Meg 2: The Trench

Directed by Ben Wheatley.

Jason Statham, Jing Wu and Sienna Guillory.

What’s it about?

A research team encounters multiple threats while exploring the depths of the ocean, including a malevolent mining operation.

Why watch it?

Set four years after the end of the first films events.

Smugglers

Directed by Seung-wan Ryu.

Kim Hye-su, Lee Do-Goon and Min-Si Go.

What’s it about?

In the 70s, in a small village near sea there are women divers who are dive without equipment and they include two best friends. As factories start to be built near the beach, these women find that their livelihood is threatened and they decide to become smugglers.

Why watch it?

Park Jungmin, Go minsi, Kim hyesoo and Jo insung share the screen for the first time. 

Ninja Vs Shark

Directed by Kôichi Sakamoto.

Koshu Hirano, Kanon Miyahara and Julia Nagano.

What’s it about?

In the Edo period, in a remote village an evil cult leader uses ninjutsu to force sharks to attack local pearl divers. Desperate for help, the village chief hires a guard, who finds his path blocked.

Kandahar

Directed by Ric Roman Waugh.

Tom Rhys Harries, Farhad Bagheri and Gerard Butler.

What’s it about?

A CIA operative and his translator flee from special forces in Afghanistan after exposing a covert mission.

Why watch it?

This is the second American movie to be shot entirely in Saudi Arabia.

Huesera (Huesera: The Bone Woman)

Directed by Michelle Garza Cervera.

Natalia Solián, Alfonso Dosal and Mayra Batalla.

What’s it about?

Valeria has long dreamed about becoming a mother. After learning that she's pregnant, she expects to feel happy, yet something's off.
