Talk To Me

Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou.

Who’s in it?

Ari McCarthy, Hamish Phillips and Kit Erhart-Bruce.

What’s it about?

When a group of friends discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, they become hooked on the new thrill, until one of them goes too far and opens the door to the spirit world forcing them to choose who to trust: the dead or the living.

Why watch it?

Six hands were made for the movie should any of them happen to get damaged or broken. Danny kept one of the hands.


The Equalizer 3

Directed by Antoine Fuqua.

Who’s in it?

Denzel Washington, Dakota Fanning and Eugenio Mastrandrea.

What’s it about?

Since giving up his life as a government assassin, Robert McCall has struggled to reconcile the horrific things he's done in the past and finds a strange solace in serving justice on behalf of the oppressed. Finding himself surprisingly at home in southern Italy, he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses. As events turn deadly, McCall knows what he has to do: become his friends' protector by taking on the mafia.

Why watch it?

Reunites actors Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning for the first time in 19 years since “Man On Fire”.


Les Trois Mousquetaires: D’artagnan (The Three Musketeers: D’Artagnan)

Directed by Martin Bourboulon.

François Civil, Vincent Cassel and Romain Duris.

What’s it about?

D'Artagnan, a spirited young Gascon, is left for dead after trying to save a young woman from being kidnapped. When he arrives in Paris, he tries by all means to find his attackers. He is unaware that his quest will lead him to the heart of a real war where the future of France is at stake. Allied with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, three musketeers of the King with a dangerous temerity, D'Artagnan faces the dark machinations of the Cardinal of Richelieu. But it is when he falls madly in love with Constance Bonacieux, the queen's confidante, that d'Artagnan truly puts himself in danger. For it is this passion that leads him into the wake of the one who becomes his mortal enemy: Milady de Winter.

Shot back to back with its sequel The Three Musketeers: Milady for a total shoot of 150 days that started on Aug 16, 2021 and wrapped on June 3, 2022.


The Nun II

Directed by Michael Chaves.

Who’s in it?

Taissa Farmiga, Jonas Bloquet and Storm Reid.

What’s it about?

A follow-up to the enigmatic Gothic horror about a strong evil that haunts and causes supernatural harm to everybody it comes into contact with. After the events of the first film, the said powerful evil now begins to spread in 1956 throughout a town in France as word gets out that a priest has been violently murdered. A finished contemplative in her novitiate, Sister Irene, begins to investigate the murder, only to find a demon behind it — the same evil that terrorized her in the original film as a nun — Valak, whom she once again soon comes to encounter.

Why watch it?

The movie was filmed at an actual abandoned church in France.


SSSS Gridman

Directed by Yoshiyuki Kaneko and Akira Amemiya.

Who’s in it?

The voices of Yuya Hirose, Tetsu Inada and Akari Kitô.

What’s it about?

The story focuses on an amnesiac first-year high school student living in the fictional Japanese city of Tsutsujidai. He meets the Hyper Agent Gridman in an old computer, who states that the boy has a mission he must fulfill. The sudden appearance of kaiju eventually changes the usual dynamics. 

Why watch it?

A Japanese adaptation of the 1993- 1994 tokusatsu series Denkou Choujin Gridman.


SSSS Dynazenon

Directed by Yoshihiro Miyajima and Akira Amemiya.

Who’s in it?

The voices of Chika Anzai, Junya Enoki and Daiki Hamano.

What’s it about?

Yomogi Asanaka is an ordinary high school boy when he encounters a young man named Gauma, who claims he is a "Kaiju User". When the city is attacked by a Kaiju, Gauma summons the giant robot Dynazenon to battle it. Yomogi, his classmate Yume Minami, and local Neet Koyomi Yamanaka are caught up in the battle and end up becoming Gauma's copilots for Dynazenon. Together, they must uncover and put a stop to whatever is behind the Kaiju attacks.

Why watch it?

It is the sequel to the 2018 anime SSSS.Gridman and the second installment in the shared Gridman Universe media established in 2018 after the 1993–94 tokusatsu drama 


 

Pranee

Directed by Supiwat Chumyangsim.

Who’s in it?

Thanyarat Buttarin and Thanadol Siriweaw.

What’s it about?

The year is 1990 and a couple in rural Khon Kaen are in love. The young man drives a dump truck and the girl is a Mathayom 6 student, which raises a few eyebrows in the village. One day, a mad police officer enters their lives and everything changes, 

Why watch it?

A classic love story.


Retribution

Directed by Nimród Antal.

Who’s in it?

Liam Neeson, Noma Dumezweni and Lilly Aspell.

What’s it about?

A bank executive receives a bomb threat while driving his children to school that his car will explode if they stop and get out.

Why watch it?

The third remake of Spain's “Retribution” (2015) after Germany's "Don't. Get. Out!” (2018) and South Korea's “Hard Hit” (2021) but the first to use the original's English title.


The Water Flows To The Sea

Directed by Tetsu Maeda.

Who’s in it?

Suzu Hirose, Masanobu Katsumura and Yukiya Kitamura.

What’s it about?

Naotatsu Kumazawa is set to start high school. To commute to school, he will stay with his uncle, Shigemichi Utagawa. On a rainy day, Naotatsu arrives at the nearest bus stop from his uncle's house, where Chisa Sakaki is waiting for him. She takes him to a shared house and Naotatsu begins to live with other people, including Chisa and his uncle. All the housemates come from different backgrounds. Chisa is a 26-year-old office worker, Shigemichi is a manga writer, but his parents don't know that he quit his regular job to become a manga writer, Hayate is a cross-dressing fortune-teller and Kenzo is a university professor, who travels around the world. Naotatsu becomes to have feelings for Chisa, who doesn't want a romantic relationship. 

Why watch it?

More like a Bollywood movie than a Japanese film. 


Seishun Buta Yaro ha Odekake Sisuta no Yume wo Minai (Rascal Does Not Dream Of A Sister Venturing Out)

Directed by Sôichi Masui.

Who’s in it?

Kaito Ishikawa, Yurika Kubo and Inori Minase.

What’s it about?

After a draining December, Sakuta is nearing the end of his second year of high school. Since Mai is a third-year student, they don't have much time left together before graduation. Meanwhile, his sister, Kaede, is slowly but steadily venturing outdoors again. Just as she begins to find her footing, she announces her most ambitious goal yet — attending her brother's high school. Sakuta knows better than anyone how difficult this will be for Kaede and he's ready to support her however he can. He's just not sure if that's what's best for her… or what she really wants.

Why watch it?

Based on the eighth volume of the light novel series Rascal Does Not Dream written by Hajime Kamoshida and illustrated by Keeji Mizoguchi.
