RedLife

Directed by Ekalak Klunson.

Who’s in it?

Thiti Mahayotaruk, Supitcha Sungkajinda and Krongthong Rachatawan.

What’s it about?

Youngsters living on the edge of the underworld in Bangkok. Their struggles and hopes, longing for pure love in harsh circumstances, are realistically captured in this remarkable film.

Why watch it?

Debut film by Ekalak Klunson.


Dear David

Directed by John McPhail.

Who’s in it?

Justin Long, Andrea Bang and Augustus Prew. 

What’s it about?

Shortly after comic artist Adam responds to Internet trolls, he begins experiencing sleep paralysis — while an empty rocking chair moves in the corner of his apartment. As he chronicles increasingly malevolent occurrences in a series of tweets, Adam begins to believe he is being haunted by the ghost of a dead child named David. Encouraged by his boss to continue the "Dear David" thread, Adam starts to lose his grip on what is online... and what is real.

Based on the viral Twitter thread by BuzzFeed comic artist Adam Ellis. 


Club Zero

Directed by Jessica Hausner.

Who’s in it?

Mia Wasikowska, Sidse Babett Knudsen and Amir El-Masry.

What’s it about?

A teacher takes a job at an elite school and forms a strong bond with five students - a relationship that eventually takes a dangerous turn.

Why watch it?

A key location used in the film was St Catherine's College, Oxford, making this one of two films which were shooting at colleges of the University of Oxford in August 2022, the other being Emerald Fennell's "Saltburn", which filmed scenes at the university's Magdalen College during the same month. 


Five Nights At Freddy's

Directed by Emma Tammi.

Who’s in it?

Josh Hutcherson, Piper Rubio and Elizabeth Lail.

What’s it about?

A troubled security guard begins working at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. During his first night on the job, he realizes that the night shift won't be so easy to get through. Pretty soon he will unveil what actually happened at Freddy's.

Why watch it?

Unlike most studios using CGI for bringing creatures to life, Jim Henson's creature shop will be responsible for the creation of the Fazbear animatronics. 


Xin shen bang: Yang Jian (New Gods: Yang Jian)

Directed by Ji Zhao.

Who’s in it?

Su Ling Chan, David Chen and Alex Hom. 

What’s it about?

Fifteen hundred years after the war of gods, the heaven declined. Yang Jian, the God of Erlang, made a living by working as a catcher. One day, Yang Jian was ordered to hunt down a young man, his own nephew. 

Why watch it?

Light Chaser Animations' New Gods series of animated films are loosely based on "Feng Shen Yanyi" (Investiture of the Gods), a 16th century classic Chinese novel. 


Tastes Of Horror

Directed by Sang-hoon Ahn, Yoon Een-Kyoung and Yong-gyun Kim.

Who’s in it?

So-Young Ban, Kim Dong-young and Jang Gwang.

What’s it about?

Montage from the Te-i-seu-cheu o-beu ho-reo (2021) series, which is composed of ten short films directed by five of the most acclaimed directors of the genre in South Korea. 

Why watch it?

Jae-hwal segment in English is entitled 'Rehabilitation'.


Single8

Directed by Konaka Kazuya.

Uemura Yuu, Takaishi Akari, Fukuzawa Noa, Kuwayama Ryuta, Kawakubo Takuji and Kitaoka Ryuki. 

What’s it about?

A coming-of-age film depicts the love and friendship of high school students in the 1970s who are passionate about filmmaking. 

Why watch it?

"An exquisite youth movie has been born that will warm your heart and show you the preciousness of creating something from scratch with passion together with your friends." 


The Marvels

Directed by Nia DaCosta.

Who’s in it?

Brie Larson, Samuel L. Jackson and Zawe Ashton.

What’s it about?

Carol Danvers AKA Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe. When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol's estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau. 

Why watch it?

The film marks Samuel L. Jackson's 15th MCU project.
