Cat lovers may find delight in visiting MRT Phahon Yothin Station where a new art exhibition titled "The Untold Adventure Of Meow" will be showcased from tomorrow until May 15. Supported by Bangkok Metro Networks Limited (BMN) and Bangkok Expressway and Metro (BEM), the exhibition featuring felines centre-stage was created by various artists.

The main exhibitions will feature paintings crafted by four solo artists -- Kyoko Abe, ByMe, Tan-staR and Jane Manasawii. Paintings by Kyoko Abe and ByMe will be on display from tomorrow until March 15, while mural art created by Tan-staR and Jane Manasawii will be showcased from March 16 to May 15. At the Relaxed & Creative Space, artist Ping Mantana will showcase her female character with long ears, called Huuyaow. Additionally, there will be a group exhibition by eight artists.

Watjanasin Charuwattanakitti, a curator of the exhibition who is in charge of art exhibitions at MRT Phahon Yothin throughout 2024, expressed his excitement about working on this metro art project.

"According to BMN and BEM, there are 70,000 commuters passing through MRT Phahon Yothin daily. This means a large number of people will see the artworks. Some passengers may feel tired from their journey and these artworks may help them feel relaxed. It is not easy to hold an exhibition in an MRT station due to the expenses. I am grateful to BMN and BEM for supporting me to organise the exhibition," said Watjanasin.

Kyoko Abe, a Japanese artist, found inspiration for Tamajung Loves Nature, from a stray cat named Tamajung who frequently visited her. Filled with sympathy for the abandoned and lonely creature, Kyoko captured their bond in paintings which depict their travels to various natural places.

ByMe is the pseudonym of a female artist who is known for the characters KiKi and Me. KiKi And Me portrays a gray cat named KiKi, who looks after a short-haired girl. In this exhibition, KiKi and Me will be featured in a friendly environment with a 'Green City' concept.

At the Relaxed & Creative Space, Ping Mantana created I Have Three Cats, which depicts Huuyaow, a female character with long ears, and three cats of different breeds -- Siamese, Scottish Fold and Persian. The paintings of Huuyaow and three cats portray a society with different kinds of people.

Admission is free. For more information, visit facebook.com/BEM.MRT.
