The Bangkok Community Theatre presents a dinner theatre show featuring Verdi's masterpiece La Traviata at the British Club, Silom 18, on Friday and Saturday starting at 7pm.

Held in collaboration with the Essential Opera Company, the intimate studio production has been designed to be accessible to all and enjoyed by anyone with a love for music and the stage, regardless of previous opera experiences.

La Traviata consistently ranks among the world's most popular operas and recounts the heart-wrenching tale of courtesan Violetta and her whirlwind romance with Alfredo as they navigate jealousy, betrayal, the expectations of Alfredo's father and the norms of Parisian high society.

Verdi's timeless score combines some of classical music's most well-known and uplifting vocal works with moments of tenderness, passion, anger and darkness, and the theatrical staging provides a feast for the senses with party scenes, a wild card game, a gypsy chorus and a spectacular matador's dance.

Featuring regionally renowned professional soloists Tae Miyata, Ben Dooley and Palang Rocksilp supported by a chorus drawn from the Bangkok classical music community, the sleek, modern production has been condensed down to around 90 minutes.

Tickets cost 2,500 baht including a pre-show three-course buffet dinner, with a range of dishes to accommodate all dietary preferences.

Tickets can be purchased from ticketmelon.com.
