Bangkok Music Society presents "A Summer Serenade – Favourite Songs From Show And Stage" at the Goethe Institut Auditorium, Sathon 1, on Friday at 7.30pm.

The BMS Choir, accompanied by Morakot Cherdchoo-ngarm on piano and directed by Margaret Young, will present a mixed bag of choral, solo and ensemble music, both familiar to the ear and close to the heart.

Among this diverse medley of choral songs are those from operas by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven, Verdi, Bizet and Tchaikovsky and a few from late 20th century musicals -- Les Misérables by Schönberg/Kretzmer and Phantom Of The Opera by Lloyd-Webber/Hart.

As well as choruses, entertaining solo and small ensemble songs have been prepared, making this an informal and entertaining soirée for all to enjoy in the relaxed atmosphere of the Goethe auditorium and its grand piano.

Much of the repertoire will be well known to many, making this a fun evening of vocal ensemble and stage choruses to round off another busy BMS musical year.

The BMS Choir is open to anyone of any nationality and resident (permanent or temporary) in Bangkok who enjoys singing and players of any instrument may apply to join its newly formed chamber orchestra.

Tickets cost 800 baht (400 baht for students) and can be purchased from ticketmelon.com and at the door.
